About the Game…

Graphically, the game is okay. It is not entirely special or pushes the 3DS to the limits, but gets the job done with introductory models and a good variety of areas for the courses. Although I am sure at least a couple of courses were reused from former Asphalt titles, they’re still nice to look at and memorable at the truly least. And the main menu also looks fine enough, having a futuristic-like appearance, which is easy on the eyes. More importantly, the sense of speed is always there thanks to the turbo and good feeling you are going fast, indeed when you do not have turbo activated. Unfortunately, the game does suffer from inconsistent framerate all throughout the game indeed during an event, which makes the experience not as smooth as it should be. On the side note, there’s also damage modeling for the vehicles as you hit walls and other vehicles, but there does not appear to be any reason for its presence other than being a nice touch. Which is odd, since there are form pickups, so you’d think there’d be a penalty for rough racing, but there isn’t.

Soundwise, it’s nothing really to write home about. motors will sound similar to one another, soundtrack is ordinary and standard techno-ish music that the Asphalt series has stuck with for awhile now, and what sound goods there are is not anything special. Very essential stuff then, but it’s probably the one thing that is not actually a positive or a negative for this game, sokudos for the game to offer object like that.

Replay value is enough low for this game. Although you could logically grind for further have and get all the vehicles in the game, you will not get important experience points when doing races you’ve formerly completed, making it a drag to accomplish. Besides for that, all that is left is to unleash Streetpass symbols and playing multiplayer races, if you do ever find someone that happens to have this game that is. It’s standard stuff for a racer, but considering the lack of polish, it is not as fun to renewal races. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend picking up Asphalt 3D. Still, also my stylish recommendation is to find it for a cheap price, If you’re ever interested in playing this title.
